New Mayor For Atlanta

I had a great morning attending the Inaugural Interfaith Worship Service  for the 60th Mayor of Atlanta Keisha Lance Bottoms.  She stated that she is thankful for all who attended and is looking forward to uniting the people of Atlanta.  I am looking forward to that as well.  Her Swearing was later in the day.

Atlanta forward … Georgia forward..

State Senate Races

Did you know that Jon Ossoff is not the only Democratic candidate with a runoff election this spring? It’s true.

Let me introduce you to my friend Christine Triebsch who is running for GA State Senate District 32. That is her pictured with me above at the Democratic Party of Georgia State Dinner last week. Ms. Triebsch beat out 7 other candidates to get the most votes but she did not break the 50% mark. She will have a runoff on MAY 16, 2017.

She ran a great campaign on a shoestring and now she needs your help to win the runoff. I urge you to visit her web page at and volunteer or donate some money. Ms. Triebsch has a great chance of winning and if she does, she will break the Republican super majority in the State Senate. And some folks still think State and Local races do not matter!

More Early Voting Locations Next Week

Early voting started this past week and we have had a great response. The only issue is that the  lines are long and so is the wait.

The good news is we will get relief this Monday when two more polling stations will be opened in addition to the Main Elections Headquarters in Lawrenceville.

Next week, voters can still vote at the main elections office,

455 Grayson Highway
Lawrenceville, GA 30046

In addition, the following early voting sites will open on Monday.

  • Lenora Park Activity Room at 4515 Lenora Church Road in Snellville
  • George Pierce Park Community Recreation Center at 55 Buford Highway in Suwanee.

Polls at all three locations will be open Monday through Friday, Oct. 24 – 28 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
