I am happy to report that I have introduced the $15 an hour minimum wage bill this week; House Bill 315.
This is good news for all working Georgians. Georgia’s minimum wage is $5.15 an hour but many of the state employers pay the Federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour. In many instances workers earning these wages cannot afford the basic necessities of life and end up receiving food stamps so they can eat. This amounts to an indirect government subsidy of the firms which employ these people, is a burden on the workers and is not fair to the tax paying public.
I am always fighting for my constituents in District 100. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any concerns or questions. Here is my contact page from my website.
Always 100,
Rep Dewey McClain
